    During the Monday, Nov. 17 regular meeting of Cathlamet’s Town Council, Councilmember Robert Stowe asked for a motion to be put on the meeting’s agenda.     During the Wahkiakum County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18, the commissioners voted unanimously to sign the settlement agreement regarding Hikma Opioid. According to the report, "Washington joined in national litigation against the manufacturers and distributors of prescription opioids." Since the settlement is "for a national total of between $34,720,371 and $57,490,976 to be spread out over years." Over the years this will results in a one-time payment of $678.91.     The Wahkiakum County PUD commissioners met for their regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18 where they were given a presentation by Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) Account Executive Lindsey Bleifuss and Robert Burr, who gave an overview of the provider of choice contract. In short BPA is updating long-term power contracts that supply electricity to regional utilities, including smaller public utility districts.     The Rainier, Clatskanie, and Knappa (RCK) girls co-op soccer team ended the season with an impressive feat during the state playoffs.     Jeanne Paulsen, 83, passed away on Nov. 12. Jeanne was born on May 29, 1942 in Longview to Glen and Freda (Gish) Bowen. After graduating from Onalaska High School in 1960 she married Mickey Paulsen and moved to Cathlamet, where they raised their 3 children. Mickey preceded her in death in 2012.     Oregon’s Rainier High School football team started off the season stronger compared to last year, winning 28-14 against Riverside. As the weeks passed, Rainier began to struggle.
